Allison Andresini is a filmmaker, theater director, writer, and producer. Film directing credits include the blue light stays on (available to stream on Prime Video, Winner Best Female Filmmaker - New Jersey Film Awards, Reale Film Festival, Garden State Film Festival, Big Apple Film Festival), Toss-Up (Garden State Film Festival - Winner Best Original Song, Hoboken International Film Festival, New York Shorts International Film Festival, Golden Door Film Festival), and Late for Brunch (Winner - Top Shorts Film Festival). Allison is co-founder and Executive Producer of Band Name Pictures, a film and new media production company she established in 2017 with her best friend and long-time artistic collaborator Gillian Holmes.
Allison got her BFA in Acting from Montclair State University in 2010. In 2013, she co-founded Walking in Space Productions, a theater and live music production company based in Northern New Jersey. Theatre directing credits include Vis Major (Treehouse Theater), Maude Goes to Sleep (Luna Stage), Mallory/Valerie (The Living Theater, NY International Fringe Festival), Reefer Madness (Montclair State University Players), and Hair (Montclair State University Players). Allison attended filmmaking classes in 2017 at the Downtown Community Television Center in Tribeca. In 2018, she studied Advanced Cinematography with Professor Igor Sunara through SVA’s Continuing Education program.
Allison is also a theater educator and teaching artist. From 2019-2024 she ran the theatre program at Pascack Hills High School in Montvale, NJ, serving as both Director and Technical Director. Allison also oversaw all set construction, training her students in on-site safety, how to use power tools, the basics of building, and the fundamentals of scenic design, building a robust theater tech program. In her 5 years at PHHS, Allison directed 6 musicals, 2 plays, 1 devised piece, and 1 virtual variety show, many of which were honored with awards and nominations from PaperMill Playhouse’s Rising Star Awards, The Metro High School Theater Awards, The Montclair State University Theatre Night “Foxy” Awards, and the bergenPAC High School Musical Awards. Through her coaching and mentorship she has helped place a dozen students in BFA performance majors and BFA technical theater programs, at such schools as Carnegie Mellon University, PACE University, Wagner College, and her alma mater Montclair State University.
Allison works as a one-on-one acting coach with performers of all ages to help them with everything from vocal technique, to dialects, to breaking down Shakespeare, to audition prep. She is also a singer, songwriter, and music producer. She and her brother Nick are looking for a band name, if anyone has any ideas.
